Canyon Lake is a reservoir on the Guadalupe River in the Texas Hill Country. It was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Guadalupe River. Mystic Quarry Resort gets special recognition here because it was where the rock was quarried to build the dam, now it’s an unique resort offering tiny homes, tipis, RV facilities and camping just minutes from the lake and the river.
“Canyon Lake” is what the locals call the area however it is made up of the several small burgs of Hancock, Startzville, Sattler and Canyon City. The Canyon Lake Post Office is in Sattler…noodle that one!
The Lake is a popular tourist spot and recreation center for the area offering an abundance of things to do: Boating/Sailing, Water Skiing, Kayaking, Fishing, Scuba Diving, Parasailing, Hiking, Dining, Shopping, and more. Of course, Wimberley, Fredricksburg, Blanco, Boerne, San Marcos, Gruene, Austin, Lake LBJ, and San Antonio are all with in a couple hours driving, so with so much to do the area is growing with loads of new homes being built adding to the already plentiful selection of resale homes. Both full time owners, vacation homes and investor possibilities offer a myriad of options for buying.
Sales range from small single wide manufactured homes starting in the $80,000 range to 6000+ SF estates at $1.8 million! So, there is bound to be something for everyone!
